We are an open workshop where players of all abilities are invited to come and learn short form, comedy improv. We try to provide a fun and welcoming environment for beginners, as well as a place for more experienced players to practice their skills.
From 7:30 until 7:45 we do orientation for new players and then get started with warm-ups for everyone. If you are new to improv or to Santa Barbara Improv, try to show up at 7:30 so I can meet and talk with you about the class and your experience with improv or performing.
From 7:45 until 9:00 or so, we work on short-form improv games and exercises.
And depending on the class, from 9:00 until 10:00 we'll either continue working on short-form improv, or we'll work on long-form skills.
This is our drop-in longform improv workshop. It is intended for those who already have a foundation in longform improv and are looking for an open workshop to continue developing your skills.
If you are interested, contact any of our instructors to apply for admission.
