Long form improv should be fun. Fun for performers and fun for the audience. If we're not having that much fun in our scenes these days, maybe we need to be asking ourselves the question: how could I be having more fun right now?

In this 7 week course, we will free ourselves up to play in funner ways, to bump up the level of enjoyment we personally are having, using a me-first approach. Making ourselves laugh with self-validated improv choices, we will be heroically selfish about bringing our own idiosyncratic sense of humor to the stage.

Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth) once said: "People will pay a lot of money to see others believe in themselves." I, Holly Mae Haddock, (Nothing You'll have Heard Of) say: People will pay about $10-$20 to see YOU make yourself laugh. Let's find out if that's true!

JOIN ME ON A JOURNEY TO THE LAND OF THE FUN

I'm looking for a sweet cohort of relatively comfortable long form improvisers who want to play openheartedly for seven sessions and a final, fun-based class show.

Players with at least six months of long form experience are welcome. The course centers on embodied explorations of the magical spirit of long form improv rather than technique. We will build up slowly to safe, fun experiences of seeing and being seen.

THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU, IF...

  • You want to have more fun in your long form improv

  • You're ok with vulnerability (yours and other people's)

  • You want to explore the wonky improv genius that only you could ever be
