Alan's long-running Wednesday workshop is open to players of all abilities to come learn and perform short form, comedy improv. It's a welcoming environment for beginners, as well as a place for more experienced players to practice their skills. From 7:30 until 8:00, there is an orientation for new players and warm-ups for everyone. If you are new to improv or to Santa Barbara Improv, try to show up at 7:30 so Alan can meet and talk with you about the class and your experience with improv or performing.  From 8:00 until 9:00 or so, we work on short-form improv games and exercises. Depending on the class, from 9:00 until 10:00 we'll either continue working on short-form improv, or we'll work on long-form skills.

Longform Improv Classes

Amy Nash and George Schreiber together bring over 15 years of long-form improv training and performing, and have been resident ensemble players at comedy theaters in New York, LA, and Philadelphia. They have been teaching and coaching long-form in Santa Barbara since 2015 and are thrilled to be leading the charge for creating a space for this type of performance.
