April 2024 XProv

April 2024 XProv

Blake Lounge (upstairs) (map)

XProv is your chance to stretch your creative muscle. Have an improv game you’ve been wanting to try? A sketch you’ve written and want to see it read live? A new troupe that wants to perform in front of a test audience? A bit of clowning? Maybe some juggling?

XProv stands for Experimental Improv, and is a place to test out something we wouldn’t normally do in a class or a show. Any bit of performance art is a potential candidate.

You don’t have to bring something to perform. You can also show up if you just want to help out with someone else’s project or play in some new games. The only requirement is that you have attended one of our classes. It’s not open to the general public.

From 7 to 8 pm, we all gather, discuss what folks brought to perform, decide on who will be in what, and rehearse whatever needs to be (or can be) rehearsed. From 8 to 9 we perform our pieces for each other, and from 9 to 10 pm is feedback (for those that want it).

Cost: $10 (pay at the door)

Requirements: You’ve attended a workshop or class. Not open to the general public.
